Question
In the previous DP U of Iowa RFP in May of 2020, Image analysis was a separate segment of the scope of RFP. Will there be a separate RFP for Image Analysis released at another date? Can you explain a change of scope or focus?
Answer
This RFP is focused only on case management software. There may be a separate RFP for image analysis in the future. It made more sense for us to do two RFPs because many vendors supply one or the other product but less commonly both.

Question
Question 52
Does U of Iowa require specific Cloud vendors? Will the Cloud environment be vendor-managed or managed by U of Iowa?
Answer
UI does not require specific cloud vendors. The case management solution can either be on-site or cloud based. If the solution is cloud-based, it needs to be housed on US based server farms. The solution can either be vendor-managed or UI-managed.

Questions 45 and 46 define volumes based on "cases".
Can you provide that information as 'slide volume' vs case volume?... or provide an estimate of how many slides/case is average for U of Iowa?
Answer
There are approximately 5 slides per case. Not all slides are scanned on every case. This number can be highly variable.

Question
In the excel file attachment,(RFP_17903_Pathology_Digital_Image_Management_Information_Requested)
Question 6: Viewer must support .mrxs and .svs image formats. Files may originate from in-house scanners, file conversions, or cases sent for consultation from other institutions. This is a Required question. Then Question 38 states: The University currently has no image management system for digital pathology. Please provide information on Supplier's proposed product's ability to incorporate approximately 1000 unmanaged digital pathology images in MRXS file format that must be incorporated into the new system. It would be nice to incorporate these legacy images into the new system, but this is not an absolute requirement for the new product RFP. This is Optional.
Please clarify if the .mrxs support is required or optional.
Answer
.mrxs support is highly desirable.
