All bidding is by milepost as listed on the lines; maps are provided as information only.

Other factors include, but are not limited to: meeting or exceeding mandatory requirements, proposed staffing, and meeting required time schedule within the changing weather conditions. Previous performance will be a factor in determining the amount of lane miles awarded to any contractor.

Bid Questions
Question Regarding the Type C inspection. It is our understanding that Imazapyr is very effective but will not show any activity in the 1-to-2-week inspection period. How will this be evaluated for payment given the lack of visual degradation?
Answer It is understood that the timing of the effects of a Type C application can vary as an ALS inhibitor as well with weather conditions affecting plant uptake. This is also true for the Type A herbicide with effects being visible closer to the end of the inspection window. This information has been reviewed by staff and will be used as inspections are filled out. The inspection period remains at 1-2 weeks post application.

Question Regarding Herbicide Type C

The specification for the Imazapyr requires 27.8% active ingredient and 4 pounds of acid per gallon. All of the Imazapyr available through our vendors that have a 27.8% active ingredient has 2 pounds of acid per gallon.

The active ingredient for the 4-pound acid is 53.1%. See below. Did they have a particular brand they were using as basis?

Question We found other herbicides to be more effective than what is specified in the spraying Scope of Work. With prior approval, may we use alternative herbicides? If so, are there any specific herbicides which are not allowed and we may not use?
Answer The herbicides specified in the contract are meant to be a baseline for effective control. Alternates may be used but rates will need to be approved by the Project Manager. Any additional herbicides will need to be labeled for ROW use and will also need prior approval.
