Over view:
DOT is seeking brick column repair where building struck by vehicle. Demo existing block and brick that was struck, salvage existing steel angle, relay new block back up wall with necessary reinforcement, install new closure style bricks to match existing with appropriate brick ties as necessary. Reference attached specifications and pdf with photos and project scope.
DOT Estimated Start Date: After July 3, 2023 DOT Estimated End Date: September 1, 2023
This is project is exempt from state sales tax.
Davis- Bacon Wages to not apply.
Questions: Until the contract is awarded the sole point of contact for this project is Julie Brown (see bid contract information) any and all questions related to this project included during a site visit are to be submitted to Julie Brown in writing preferably through the ION wave Bid system. (See the cut off period for question submissions and Site Visit scheduling indicated below)
Site Visit:
Site visits are recommended. Interested bidders can schedule a site visit with the Purchasing Agent listed on the solicitation via email @ julie.brown@iowadot.us.
DOT will coordinate with staff and send you confirmation once the site visit has been scheduled.
Contractors will be required to bring their own equipment needed for the site visit.
Award:
It is the intent of the Iowa DOT to award the contract to the responsible bidder whose submitted quotation is the most advantageous to the Iowa DOT, cost and other factors considered. Other factors include, but are not limited to: meeting or exceeding mandatory requirements, proposed staffing, and meeting required time schedule.
