The Iowa Department of Transportation is seeking bids for the following trailers:
ITEM 1: TANDEM AXLE TRAILER, 20-TON DECK-OVER TAG WITH BEAVERTAIL AND RAMPS; per specification 3-B650-0823.
ITEM 2: TANDEM AXLE TRAILER, 20-TON DECK-OVER TAG TILT DECK - 5-foot fixed front deck and 25-foot rear tilt deck; per spec 3-B650-0823.
ITEM 3: TANDEM AXLE TRAILER, 20-TON DECK-OVER TAG TILT DECK - 30-Foot tilt deck; per spec 3-B650-0823.
Line items are not tied and will be awarded on an individual basis. Please see specification under the attachments tab for complete specifications of desired equipment.
Contract Award
It is the intent of the Iowa DOT to award the contract to the responsible bidder whose submitted quotation is the most advantageous to the Iowa DOT, cost and other factors considered. Other factors include, but are not limited to: meeting or exceeding mandatory requirements, proposed staffing, and meeting required time schedule.

Question Good morning Reese,

As we were going through the standard bid term and conditions we noticed in the bid opportunity page 1, section A, item 3, Proposal Guaranty. Is there a proposal guaranty needed for this bid? We did not see a percentage for said guaranty.

2nd item in the standard bid terms and conditions, page 7, item 20, Contractors Insurance Requirements. Do we need to provide this for this bid?

This is our first time bidding, so we just want to make sure that all of our ducks are in a row when we submit this bid. Please let me know if you need us to clarify any of these questions. We greatly appreciate the direction.

Question On page 7 of the specification it list 9 manuals to be supplied, 3 for each trailer. Is this requirement for item 3 and would this mean there are more than 3 trailers on line 3?

Each of the 3 line items is for 1 unique individual trailer. There will be 3 manuals required for each of the trailers, including the manuals requirements specified in the specification.
