Contract Award
It is the intent of the Iowa DOT to award the contract to the responsible bidder whose submitted quotation is the most advantageous to the Iowa DOT, cost and other factors considered. Other factors include, but are not limited to: meeting or exceeding mandatory requirements, proposed staffing, and meeting required time schedule.
Contract Award
The Contractor will be awarded a one (1) year contract with an option to renew for five (5) additional years in twelve (12) month increments.
Renewals are not a guarantee and must be a mutually agreed upon between the contractor and the Iowa DOT.
Estimated Quantities
It is the intent of the Iowa DOT to purchase 70 cabinets on the initial order. The exact amount of cabinets purchased per year is dependent on funding and Iowa DOT final approval. At this time, it should be understood there are no guaranteed minimum purchases and actual purchases may vary considerably based on actual needs throughout the contract period.
Shipping Instructions
Cabinets will be shipped to multiple locations across the State.
Deliveries shall be F.O.B Destination.

Question Are the dead fronts blank?
Answer Nothing specific they can be black or clear. We have always gotten clear but I don’t think it matters.

Answer
No there is not a requirement for this.


Iowa DOT can purchase without competition up to $25,000.00 from Targeted Small Businesses.

Question Would the cabinet dimensions 49"x24"x16.5" be an acceptable option?
Answer Too big would be greater than the expected wind load and almost a foot taller and weigh in over our weight limit. We are trying to go smaller not bigger.

A case can be made though if that shortens delivery time.

Question A.1.i shows 'top and bottom mounting brackets' Will standard side-of-pole flared brackets mounted to back of the cabinet be acceptable?
Answer Our “pipe” is 10 to 15 inches around so no those are not acceptable.
