Over view: This project will consist of the Construction of a rest area at I-380 South Bound in Linn County Cedar Rapids, as per the attached specifications and plans this does include demo and removal of the existing rest area. This project will require the following trades, General Contractor, Structural, Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing and Fire Protection.

The estimated project period to begin July 1, 2023

Substantial Completion on or before October 15, 2024

DOT Final completion November 15, 2024 Note: this includes the completion and acceptance of any outstanding punch list items, DOT final acceptation and the processing of any pay application

It is the intent of the Iowa DOT to award the contract to the responsible bidder whose submitted quotation is the most advantageous to the Iowa DOT, cost and other factors considered. Other factors include, but are not limited to: meeting or exceeding mandatory requirements, proposed staffing, and meeting required time schedule.

Until the contract is awarded the sole point of contact for this project is through Jody McNaughton (see bid contract information) any and all questions related to this project are to be submitted through the ION wave Bid system.

A Proposal Guaranty (Bid Bond) is required on this project in the amount of 5% of the contractors total bid. This is due at the time bids are received and the form is located under the attachment tab. This completed form must be uploaded as a bid response attachment.

Only the awarded contractor will be required to have a Performance Bond & Power of Attorney
