Contract Award: It is the intent of the Iowa DOT to award the contract to the responsible bidder whose submitted quotation is the most advantageous to the Iowa DOT, cost and other factors considered. Other factors include, but are not limited to: meeting or exceeding mandatory requirements, proposed staffing, and meeting required time schedule.

The Iowa DOT is seeking competitive bids for an Iowa licensed plumbing contractor to provide all materials, labor and equipment necessary for the excavation around the Iowa DOT Ames complex fire hydrant and sprinkler PIV to determine a water leak issue and repair the plumbing line and remove and replace any lines that are cracked or broken. Project includes removal and disposal of tree. See Line Item and Attachment tabs for details.

OSHA: Contractor to follow all OSHA standards for shoring, open trenches, safety of area. Locates to be done prior to work starting, private lines will be done by DOT.

All work will be completed during normal business hours 7:00 a.m.- 3:30 p.m. M-F. This includes demo and all materials and debris is to be disposed of off site.

Estimated Project Start Date: August 8, 2023 (Start Date shall be coordinated with the IDOT Project Manager)

Estimated Project Completion Date: August 31, 2023
