Over view: DOT is seeking a contractor to provide the following scope of work.
Furnish and Install Temporary Holding Tank
Scope:The existing sewer system force main system becomes overloaded during the maintenance
garage's truck washing methods, thus causing issues with the sanitary sewer's ability to drain
sufficiently. The new holding tank installed on the sanitary sewer line will help to temporarily relieve
the issue for that portion of the system.
Contractor to supply all materials, machinery and labor to provide new 1500 gallon sanitary wastewater holding tank and PVC sanitary sewer piping, and modify existing building sanitary sewer drain line system. Provide new valves, visual and audible
high level tank alarm as shown on the drawings for the West Burlington IowaDOT Maintenance
Garage. Connect to existing PVC sewer service. Remove and replace granular drive and restore
grass.
**Contractor to Order new materials within 15 days after bid approval and submittals reviewed
& approved.

Construction to start: on or before May 1, 2023

Substantial completion date: no later than July 14, 2023

DOT contract end date: no later than July 28, 2023 this shall include all punch list items are completed, any inspections are completed and final has indicated final acceptance.
This is project is exempt from state sales tax.
Davis-bacon wages do not apply.
It is the intent of the Iowa DOT to award the contract to the responsible bidder whose submitted quotation is the most advantageous to the Iowa DOT, cost and other factors considered. Other factors include, but are not limited to: meeting or exceeding mandatory requirements, proposed staffing, and meeting required time schedule.
