Question TRICE – If the LED board is not expanded in width please confirm the audio system must not go back in the current scrim position future-proofing the ability to expand the boards later
Answer No matter which direction we go for LED, we’ll want to have the sound system out on the front of the truss as proposed, not behind the scrim as it is now.

Question ALL LOCATIONS – Please confirm the University will require all subcontractors to provide a proper safety plan and that all workers will be required to follow OSHA guidelines with a minimum of OSHA 30.
Answer OSHA guidelines must be followed.

Question HILTON -- Will the University provide OSHA required fall protection throughout the working area of the attic or with the contractors be responsible for temporary fall protection lines, harnesses, railings, and leaving accessible platforms at the hoist, in front of the amp racks, and in front of the electrical panels as required by NFPA 70 Art 110.
Answer The awarded contractor will be responsible for the safety of their employees, including fall protection.

Question TRICE – Will we be allowed to bring a crane onto the field on both the North and South end zone?
Answer ISU will work with the selected vendor on their installation requirements, including cranes within the stadium. If cranes are required, we will expect the playing surface to be protected and any damage caused by the cranes to be repaired on the playing surface or surrounding tarmac.

Question Is there a plan for the speakers that hang on the 4 poles around the soccer field to remain functional? If no, do they need to be removed?

Answer We estimate that the award notification will go out in early 2024.

Question Is there an Event Schedule for Jack Trice Stadium and Hilton Coliseum showing scheduled events that may affect the project schedule?
Answer See document (RFI_BuildingScheduleAppendix.docx) Each facility hosts a variety of events both in-season and out-of-season. Once the contract is awarded to a contractor, ISU will work with the contractor on a detailed installation schedule incorporating those events into the schedule as necessary.

Question We request the shop drawings or as builts for the scoreboards at Jack Trice Stadium we anticipate as part of the Audio RFP we most likely will have to design & engineer a structural expansion of the south scoreboard as there will be inadequate room to install audio within the towers and still leave proper egress. Please Confirm.
Answer All available drawings and as-builts have been added to the bid.

10/26/2023 01:30:00 PM (CT) Site Visit A site visit is scheduled for Thursday, October 26th, 2023 from 1:30PM CST to 3:00PM CST. Suppliers must attend the site visit to be considered for an award. Suppliers should meet inside the lower west doors of Hilton Coliseum located at 1705 Center Drive, Ames, IA 50011. Suppliers shall RSVP their intent to attend by emailing dmohr@iastate.edu.
