Can the University please clarify the intent for the use of the devices and if cellular service will be required on these devices?

|
Devices will be used to conduct research on the unique ‘fingerprint’ each phone leaves when it takes pictures. The photos taken by each phone contain data and patterns that will be used to help researchers develop a methodology for identifying a phone based on the pictures it takes. Cellular service is not required.

Is there an operating system requirement? Example IOS, Android or Other?
Is there a minimum requirement for camera quality? example 4 megapixel?
Does the university have a preference on form factor? Example smartphone, flip phone, candy bar?

Answer
|
The operating system and features would follow the type of camera provided through the bid. For example, all iPhones would need an IOS system, Galaxy phones an android system, etc. The most important factor is that the model requested is provided (such as Galaxy S20 FE 5G), since it is critical that researcher acquire models with multiple cameras on them. Models were selected based on the number of cameras they have.
