Question
1. Can an estimate of the number of students who will log into the system be provided?

2. Can an estimate of the number of assessments / quizzes each student might take be provided?

3. Shown in 2, can you explain your vision of “ease”? In other words, what is the student, faculty and administrator experience today that is not easy?

4. The system is required to integrate with Canvas (6). Can you explain the level of integration with Canvas? Are we to pass / pull data back and forth or is the system to embed within etc.?

5. Can you describe the specific functionality of (25) taking notes within the tool. Highlighting and strike out.

6. Are there any requirements for the vendor to migrate past assessments or student data into the system?

7. What type of pricing model work best for Iowa State University?

8. Does Iowa State University provide Microsoft licenses (O365) to their students, faculty and, has Microsoft Teams been adopted within the University?
Answer
1. All students at ISU would have access. https://www.registrar.iastate.edu/resources/enrollment-statistics/university-summary

2. Very high level estimate would be 2 exams/class, 4 classes per semester

3. a. We would like to have as much configuration as possible available from within Canvas so that instructors and students don’t have to navigate another website. At the very least, we would like to see a direct link out to the class content/settings in vendor’s platform.

3. b. Ideally, communication, grading, etc. could all take place within Speedgrader in Canvas.

3. c. Another component to this is the ease with which written work can be manipulated and entered into Canvas. For instance:

i. How to bubble sheets get scored/uploaded?

ii. Can written equations be scanned and submitted?

iii. Can written submissions be marked up via touch screen?

4. This speaks to the ease of use. We would like to know the level of integration and whether it is through an LTI, an API, or file transfer. Full integration with data pass back is preferred.

5. We would like to see the integration allow for direct markup via submission or via grading (think similar to PDF annotation). This might also include the ability to make notes or corrections to a problem set containing handwritten complex equations.

6. Being able to import a previously administered Canvas quiz into the vendor’s platform for future administration would be preferred. Migrating past student data is not necessary.

7. We are open to different pricing models

8. Yes

Question Section 3: Proposal Timeline
What is the scope of the pilot, such as number of users, e.g. is this intended to be a system-wide pilot, or a sandbox with a limited number of users (faculty, TAs, and students)?
