Bid Questions
Question What is the expected start date for work on the project?
Answer Ideally work will start on or before January 9th, but this will be dependent on any contract negotiations that take place.

Question •Does ISU require the LASSO site/portal to be a stand alone site/portal? •Do you have a domain name for the LASSO portal to be hosted? If not, would you purchase it? • We understand the ISU requires to recreate an existing system with additional capabilities Is - so, does that mean ISU is seeking a vendor to recreate a new learning site from ground up, please correct our understanding? •Do you need all the 65 assessments to be migrated to a newly developed web application? •Do you need logins for all the instructors, students and other users as well? •Do you need Single Sign On? •Do you have any preference on technology platform? If so, what would it be? • Can we propose open-source CMS such as - Drupal, etc.,?• Is there any preference for an off-the-shelf/COTS solution or looking for a custom developed application? • When do you want the newly developed web application to be launched (go live)? • Where does the work need to be performed Onsite/offsite or outside of the US?
Answer - The vision is stand alone, but we're open to other solutions.

- We will be purchasing a domain

- We want to re-platform LASSO from the ground up.

- We want all the old assessments migrated over.

- We're hoping to retain our existing accounts, but this is currently under negotiation with CU Boulder.

- We do not need single sign on.

- We're open to different technological platform solutions

- We're open to drupal and other CMS options.

- If there is an off the shelf solution, that's great.

- By the end of the Spring semester (5/1/23)

- We have no preference for where the work is performed.

Question Can the due date for proposals be extended by 1 week?
Answer It cannot.

Question What is driving your team to seek a new agency partner to provide these services at this time?
Answer The coder that created LASSO has left for another position, so we need a new partner to do the coding work. It was also a good time to bring the system over to ISU and re-platform it.

Question What pain points exist with the current system?
Answer There are features that don't work and it is difficult to bring someone in to fix them or add new features. This is in part because we're not at CU Boulder where the code lives and also because the code was created piece meal over time by an individual. We want to modernize the system.

Question Can you describe the source and the file type of the content?
Answer The assessments and student responses will all be saved in a database.

Question Is the University expecting to own the total solution? If so, would a perpetual licensing option be acceptable to the University?
Answer Iowa State University intends to own the resulting solution. Section 28 of the General Terms and Conditions attached to the RFP further describes this.

Question Can you describe in more detail your expectation for “analysis reports?”
Answer We'll create reports, but we'll need them implemented. We'll likely create the reports using a shiny app. Ultimately, we'll need LASSO to take a set of data, run the shiny app, and generate a PDF for the user.

Question Can you please describe your support needs? How is support currently structured? Is it working well? Can you share the average number of weekly or monthly support requests?
Answer We currently have very little ongoing support. If things break, we'll need them fixed. We'll also have additional features that we need added over time.

Question Can the new solution be hosted on a public cloud provider instead of on-premises to take advantage of unique cloud capabilities in the areas of availability, resiliency, scalability, and security?
Answer It could be, however this option was beyond our budget based on previous RFP.
