The City of Davenport is seeking vendors for the installation of a playground at Fairmount Library per the Maintenance Manual provided. The playground has already been purchased by the City. The City will provide a rough graded site ready for installation. The City will also provide mulch after installation is complete. This bid is solely for the installation. The anticipated completion date of this project is Fall 2023.
All vendors are required to have a Certified Playground Safety Inspector overseeing the installation.
Bids must be submitted through the City of Davenport eBidding System; no emails, no faxes, no paper copies or any other method will be accepted.

Bid Questions
Question I was reading what a CPSI does to help me understand its role. To me it looks like a CPSI isn't involved with installation. It look like its role is to review existing playgrounds hazards and set up safety programs. If I am understanding correctly this would almost be someone from the City that would have to inspect playgrounds on a yearly basis? Or maybe someone in Risk Management.
Answer We are asking for a CPSI to be on staff either with the playground vendor or the installer due to the issues that we have had with previous installations. The installers did not recognize pinch points or entrapment hazards (to name a few hazards) and their installation was not precise enough to eliminate these hazards. The CPSI’s role is to ensure installation is done with care to eliminate these issues. The city’s CPSI will conduct a final inspection prior to accepting the playground for the city.

Question It says the City will be providing the mulch, but are the contractors responsible for installing it or will the City take care of this?
Answer The City will provide the mulch and install it.
