The City of Davenport, Iowa is seeking bids from qualified firms for the Dohse Splash and Play Project. The proposed improvements include, not limited to, site clearing, earthwork, water, sanitary, and electrical utility connections, splash pad equipment installation, play equipment installation, shade sail installation, concrete paving, playground surfacing, fencing, and restoration.

Splash pad equipment and play equipment will be furnished by the City.

Answer The cost estimate is $467,998.

Question A drawing including a “Footing H” is included is the documents… where is Footing H located?
Answer Footing H is not present on the project, please disregard.

Question There are not traps, clean outs or vent piping shown for the four (4) drains on the splash pad, as is they are open to the sanitary sewer. Keeping in mind that this is an outdoor facility, how are these to be incorporated in the installation? Code requires traps, cleanouts and venting.
Answer Install code compliant traps and venting as required. Venting shall be installed so as not to introduce smells in the area or buildings. Assume code compliant trap to be fabricated and included within pay item for Sanitary MH 1.

Question The specification for DWV piping is ANSI/ASME A112.3.1 Stainless Steel Drainage System – is this the only specified material for drainage, waste & vent piping?
Answer We are unsure what this refers to. Drain system identified is PVC per plans.

Question There are six (6) 1 ½” pipe lines from the Waterplay manifold to the features. There is no bid item for the 1 ½” pipe – how is this included in the bid?

Answer E002 should be omitted from the sheet index. Items previously on this sheet have been incorporated into E001.

Answer Inside angle of north seatwalls is 33.60 degrees for both walls. Note circular seatwalls continue beneath the benches. Seatwall Bench interior angles are 45 degrees.

This will be a time to visit the location, discuss the plans and specifications, address any questions or concerns, and outline the City’s expectations. All contractors intending to bid on this project are encouraged to have a representative in attendance.
