The City of Davenport is requesting bids from qualified vendors the River Heritage Park Tree Planting project. Pricing should be free of any sales tax.

Will you accept plant supply only bids on this project?


Answer

No to supply only. These trees will need some TLC to ensure that they establish correctly. We don’t have enough staff to ensure that at the moment.

Question
The provisions page mentions watering trees after installation either with hoses, water bags, etc. But then it also mentions we should include coming back and watering these trees for the first year if we don't receive adequate rain? The parks department can't water these when they're out watering your hanging baskets?
Answer

The parks and forestry department do not have the staffing resources needed to ensure the establishment of the plant material as part of this contract. The hanging basket operations and watering is undertaken by the Downtown Davenport Partnership and is not affiliated with the City of Davenport.
