Overview: Note that Vendors may bid on any line item individually, or multiple and/or all line items, as l ine items are NOT linked. (See Attribute #3). The Iowa DOT is re-bidding this solicitation to replace numerous doors at various locations. While the specifications may look the same, please refer to the required specification number identified under the line item tab for each garage location.
Award: It is the intent of the Iowa DOT to award the contract to the responsible bidder whose submitted quotation is the most advantageous to the Iowa DOT, cost and other factors considered. Other factors include, but are not limited to: Meeting or exceeding mandatory requirements, proposed staffing, and meeting required time schedule.
Questions: All questions related to this project are to be submitted through the IONwave Bid system on or before the cut off date and time as indicated in the solicitation.
Start date - 09/30/2023 This is the estimated start date after all required documents are received (i.e., Insurance, performance bond and vendor signed contract)
Project end date- 04/15/2024 (This includes re solution to all punch list items, inspections and DOT acceptance typically used in construction bids).
Contractor is required to provide all materials, equipment and labor for the removal and replacement of overhead door as per plans/specifications outlined on the Line Item tab. This includes the disposal of all debris off site.
The awarded contractor will be required to conduct a final fit measurement prior to the ordering of any materials.
Site Visits: A site visit is required prior to submitting a bid to ensure the vendor has the door measurements. To schedule a site visit contractors must contact Teri Schulz at teri.schulz@iowadot.us with a date and time of when you want a site visit. Contractors will be required to bring their own equipment needed for the site visit.
Site visits will be scheduled in advance between August 14, 2023 and September 1, 2023 , Monday-Thursday between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Fridays hours are 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

Davis-Bacon wages do not apply.
