Overview:

The Iowa Department of Transportation is seeking bids for; Remove existing electric track and replace with festooning electric for Coffing 3 ton hoist using compatible electric equipment as per manufacturer's specifications. The location for this project is the Iowa DOT Repair Shop located on the DOT's main complex, 800 Lincoln Way, Ames, IA 50010.
Scope of Work:

Remove existing electric track and replace with festooning electric for Coffing 3-ton hoist using compatible electric equipment.

Installation to be done by licensed electrical professionals. Work to be inspected by state electrical board.

Work to be done during regular working days and hours M - F 7:00 - 3:30.

Award:

It is the intent of the Iowa DOT to award the contract to the responsible bidder whose submitted quotation is the most advantageous to the Iowa DOT, cost and other factors considered. Other factors include, but are not limited to: Meeting or exceeding mandatory requirements, proposed staffing, and meeting required time schedule.

The date shall be coordinated with the IDOT Project Manager. (This is the estimated start date after all required documents are received (i.e., Insurance, performance bond and vendor signed contract).

Note:

Contractors to propose a suggested revised completion date taking into consideration winter weather conditions. This is a required Attribute. See Attribute #12.
Site Visits:

A pre-bid site visit is highly recommended but not required.
To schedule a site visit, contractors must contact the Purchasing Agent overseeing the bid at kyle.williams@iowadot.us with a date and time of when the awarded contractor wishes to conduct a site visit before the question cutoff date/time.
