Overview:
The Iowa Department of Transportation is seeking bids for; Furnish & install materials needed for new backflow device and to bring 1-1/2" water service to future location of emergency shower as per specifications outlined in
RFB FY2024 #203 Plans Document
(Attachments tab). The location for this project is the Iowa DOT Sign Shop/D1 Lab located on the main Iowa DOT campus at 800 Lincoln Way, Ames, IA 50010.
Scope:

FURNISH AND INSTALL MATERIALS NEEDED FOR NEW BACK FLOW DEVICE AND TO BRING 1-1/2" WATER SERVICE TO FUTURE LOCATION OF EMERGENCY SHOWER. INCLUDING BACK FLOW DEVICE, PIPING, PIPE INSULATION.

WORK TO BE DONE M - F 7:00 TO 4:00. COORDINATE WITH ONSITE DOT EMPLOYEES.
Award:
It is the intent of the Iowa DOT to award the contract to the responsible bidder whose submitted quotation is the most advantageous to the Iowa DOT, cost and other factors considered. Other factors include, but are not limited to: Meeting or exceeding mandatory requirements, proposed staffing, and meeting required time schedule.

Note: Contractors to propose a suggested revised completion date taking into consideration winter weather conditions. This is a required Attribute. See Attribute #12.
Site Visits:
A pre-bid site visit is

on this project.
To schedule a site visit, contractors must contact the Purchasing Agent overseeing the bid at kyle.williams@iowadot.us with a date and time of when the contractor wishes to conduct a site visit before the question cutoff date/time.
