Award: It is the intent of the Iowa DOT to award the contract to the responsible bidder whose submitted quotation is the most advantageous to the Iowa DOT, cost and other factors considered. Other factors include, but are not limited to: meeting or exceeding mandatory requirements, proposed staffing, and meeting required time schedule.
All questions related to this project are to be submitted through the Ionwave bid system through the cut off period for question submissions.
Site Visit: A working trailer (prototype) will be made available for interested vendors to inspect prior to the bid opening date. Prospective bidders are highly encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity as accurate bidding may not be possible without it.

Before delivery the successful vendor may be required to schedule an inspection with Equipment Services at the vendor’s location.
All items bid differently than requested in the specifications will require the review and approval of Equipment Services before they will be accepted.
Trailers must conform to Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, Federal Motor Vehicle Regulations and Code of Iowa, Section 321 requirements. It is expected that all trailer manufacturers and vendors be familiar with and have access to the above regulations and codes.
Iowa DOT public bid opening is at 1:00 p.m. on August 8, 2023.
