Iowa State University (ISU) is providing an opportunity for businesses that have an interest in potentially locating in the new CYTown development on the ISU campus. CYTown is designed to be a unique, year-round mixed-use destination to be built in the heart of the Iowa State Center - between Jack Trice Stadium and Hilton Coliseum.
The CYTown project will include a medical facility, mix of retail, restaurant, office space and luxury suites. The area will also include an outdoor plaza and amphitheater. Companies and businesses that have interest in locating in this newly envisioned destination complex can respond to this Request for Interest to have their names added to a list for ISU to contact about potential locations in the complex.
CYTown will be a unique mix of retail, medical, service and activity spaces integrated into the development. CYTown is the ideal location for the following uses:
Retail
Food & Beverage
Entertainment
Office
Medical
Hotel
Fitness
Luxury Residential
Civic Space (Convention)
Open and Recreational Space

Specifically, the University is currently interested in proposals and business opportunities for a mixed-used medical clinic. The building site provided for the medical clinic would be approximately 30,000 sq. ft. and any building constructed on this site must exceed 50,000 sq. ft. Iowa State University will retain ownership of the land on which the building resides.

This is not a binding agreement to locate but only a way to notify ISU of your interest.
In 1954, Iowa State President James H. Hilton shared his vision of what years later would become the Iowa State Center. President Hilton envisioned an educational, cultural and athletic complex rising from what was once farmland. Hilton’s dream was realized through construction of C.Y. Stephens Auditorium, Fisher Theater, the Scheman Building, the arena named in his honor − Hilton Coliseum, and Jack Trice Stadium.
The Iowa State Center has continued to transform Iowa State and the Ames community for more than 50 years. Now, as Iowa State University boldly looks to its future, it believes CYTown will be an initiative that advances the University’s strategic goals of fostering lifelong learning, creating and forging new frontiers, and serving as a trusted partner for innovative solutions.
CYTown will both build upon and sustain the impact made possible with the Iowa State Center’s founding.
