Iowa State University of Science and Technology (ISU) is soliciting information from qualified Suppliers on behalf of the Industrial Manufacturing and Systems Engineering Department (IMSE) to provide a femtosecond laser system, which will be used to conduct novel research in the area of advanced manufacturing and materials processing.

Particular research topics include:

1) advanced nanomanufacturing of functional materials

2) fundamental investigation on laser-matter interaction

3) ultrafast laser processing of metallic components for enhanced durability towards applications in aerospace/automotive industry, and biomedical/electronic devices

4) post-processing of 3D printed components for improved properties
