The Iowa National Guard has a requirement for a Portable/Mobile Loading Dock/Ramp and is interested in determining the number of potential contractors and their business size. Please complete the table on page two and include the table with your response whether your business can provide this equipment. Quotes are not requested at this time, a combined synopsis/solicitation will be issued after market research is completed. Below is a description and salient characteristics of the required equipment.

ITEM: Portable/Mobile Loading Dock

DESCRIPTION: Self-contained portable/mobile loading dock designed for loading and unloading of various types of cargo, i.e., boxes, barrels, aircraft parts, vehicles, all typical freight handled when loading and off-loading delivery trucks. Ramp shall be used to load-out mobilizing military units without disruption to daily freight activity when unit’s location does not have availability to an authorized loading dock.

Salient Characteristics:

• Minimum of 85,000 lbs. weight bearing capacity


• Deck length between 2 to 4 feet


• Ramp length between 30 to 36 feet


• Overall width between 114 to 126 inches


• Minimum service width of 114 inches


• Includes front safety support legs - spring loaded up and adjustable


• Includes adjustable structural support legs service range of 36 to 56 inches


• Shall have integral 72 to 76 inch-wide edge of dock leveler


• Includes automatic wheel engagement - no manual pumping required


• Shall have 23 to 25 inch solid rubber tires


• Shall have Kingpin attachment at base of ramp


• Shall have removable metal handrails that are colored safety yellow, 30 to 36 inches above deck, placed on the left and right sides of the dock for distance estimating and safety.


• Includes wheel chocks per OSHA code 29 CFR 1910.178(k)


• Includes solid full length 13 inch high solid run-off guards


• Shall have manual operated dock height adjustment


• Includes safety lip run off barrier


• Shall have trailer impact bumpers


• Shall have slot or compartment to hold wheel chocks that are attached to dock


• Shall have no maintenance legs


• Shall have weatherproof and no maintenance height adjustment mechanism


• Shall be free-standing as an independent piece of equipment


• Shall have non-slip replaceable heavy-duty dock and ramp grating


• Shall include 10 to 14 inch-high dock and ramp curbing


• Shall have safety cage built around hydraulic fluid reservoir


• Shall have hydraulic hoses properly supported to ensure no entanglements occur during operations


• Shall have a minimum of two tie-downs buckles within three feet of front and back of ramp


• Includes a minimum 5-year on-site repair warranty


• Includes on-site operator training with purchase price


• Includes all technical Manual(s) for the ramp and components

Item Unique Identification (IUID) label is required per DFARS Clause 252.211-7003 “Item Identification and Valuation.” Contractor shall provide IUID label prior to submitting WAWF Invoice.
