Corps of Engineers Service Base in Pleasant Valley, IA. The intended use is for the fabrication of miter gate anchorage components. In addition, steel plate, bars and angles should be provided by the contractor in the quantities shown in the

Appendix below. This material will be used in the fabrication of eighteen single-point picks for removal of our existing miter gates at LD’s 3, 4, 5 and 6, and for modification to a dewater box. The Contractor will provide steel in the quantities below.

1.1 ASTM A709 HPS 100W Plate Specifications.

a) A 4” x 4” sample of steel to be cut from any of the four corners of each piece is acceptable to conduct testing.

b) Per ASTM A709 Paragraph 4.1 and 4.2, “W” denotes the requirement for impact testing of the material, where “W” denotes that the material will be used for fracture critical, tension components (See Paragraph 10.2 Referring then to Table 10).

c) Minimum tensile strength of 110-130 ksi (760-895 MPa)

d) Charpy V-Notch impact toughness minimum of 35 ft lbs @ -30 F (48J @ -34C) (all zones)

e) Grain direction running parallel to the 6’8” edge.

f) Must conform to Buy American Act.

g) Final product shall be clean and free of any oil or grease, dross, slag or burrs. All cut edges (regardless of method) shall have a surface roughness acceptable for welding.

h) Final product shall be legibly marked with the applicable designation, grade, heat number, size and thickness, name brand, or trademark of the manufacturer for identification and shipment. Bundle and band the steel material as required for shipping, with cribbing at minimum six inches above the base of the shipping platform to allow offloading with a forklift and/or crane. Covering of

2. Submittals

For the ASTM A709 HPS 100W steel plate, the Contractor shall submit a mill certification electronically in pdf format via email to both the Government Contracting Officer’s representative and the Government technical point of contact. The Government technical point of contact is:

3. Delivery Schedule

Delivery of the CLIN 0001 ASTM A709 HPS 100W shall be no later than May 1st, 2024. Soonest possible delivery is requested if possible. Delivery of CLIN 0002-0009 shall deliver no later than January 7, 2024. Soonest possible delivery is requested if possible. All material shall be delivered to the following address during business hours of 07:00 to 15:00, Monday through Thursday, excluding federal holidays.
