Bid Questions
Question The previous solicitation Q&A clarified that, contrary to the description in the RFB, above ground intake risers were not required.
Please clarify if intakes are required, or if the pipe will just connect to existing or future tile lines outside the ROW with inspection accesses installed.
Answer
These answers should have been added to this new bid requirements, etc. and I forgot.

What brand/kind of upright surface intake is required?

The upright inspection pipes on each side of the Right of Way shall be 4 inch diameter PVC pipe, minimum of three feet above ground. Our Spec. requires the material used to meet or exceed industry standards

What is the required location of the intakes as compared to the inspection tubes?

This crossing is designed to convey the under ground drainage of the adjacent parcels so this crossing will not have above ground intakes installed in the Right of Way. The inspection tubes on each end of the Right of Way will be all that is required for this project.

Is depth/location of existing tile on both sides of Hwy 17 determined by IDOT prior to contractor work start, or is it contractor's responsibility?

There is existing underground drainage tile in both parcels on each side of IA 17. The depth and location of the existing tile on each side of IA 17 will be determined and discussed during a field review to be scheduled prior to the contractor beginning work.

Is rural seed mix okay for property owner east of Hwy 17?

Rural seed mix is acceptable for restoring the disturbed Right of Way.
