You are invited to submit comments/feedback in response to this Sources Sought Request for Information (RFI) concerning an upcoming solicitation for Promotional Backpacks to the Iowa National Guard, Camp Dodge Joint Maneuver Training Center, USPFO-P&C, Bldg. 3475, 7105 NW 70th Avenue, Johnston, IA 50131-1824.

Quotes are not requested at this time.

Salient characteristics (purchase description) for the proposed backpack shall meet or exceed the salient characteristics described below. Please provide comments/feedback, to include the following:

1. Can your business provide this requirement per the salient characteristics listed?

2. Does your backpack comply with DFARS Part 225, “Qualifying Country End Product” or demonstrate that over 50% of the unit price is performed within the United States?

3. Are the salient characteristics either too vague or too restrictive?

4. Any other useful information to improve the salient characteristics?

5. Any additional information that would be helpful to prepare a quote?

SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS (Purchase Description):

• Multi-Cam color

• Approximate dimensions 20” H x 10” W x 5” D

• 600D waterproof fabric, double coated PU vinyl

• Molded comfort fit handle with double cross stitching

• Heavy duty metal zippers and buckles

• Main compartment with one additional pocket for storage and one padded laptop compartment to hold up to a 17” laptop

• Two additional zippered compartments for additional storage:

o Top compartment for multimedia devices or sunglasses

o Bottom compartment with organizer and mesh pocket

• 10” MOLLES stretch across bottom compartment

• Velcro for name tape and flag patch:

o 1” x 5” name tape located below the flag patch Velcro

o 2” x 3” flag patch Velcro located at the top of the bottom compartment on the front of the bag

• Stretch side pocket shall hold a 24 oz water bottle, aligned across with four MOLLES

• Zippered side compartment, aligned across with four MOLLES

EMBROIDERED IMAGES: 2.75” wide x 3” high Iowa Army National Guard stacked shield logo shall be embroidered in black, white, and gold colors on front and center of the backpack top compartment. 3.25” wide x ¼” high call to action, “NATIONALGUARD.COM/IA” embroidered in black color centered underneath the Iowa Army National Guard stacked shield logo.
